Biotin acts as a coenzyme in the production of carboxylases which is essential in transferring CO2 from one compound to another. It also functions in the synthesis of fatty acids (Acetyl CoA-carboxylase), gluconeogenesis (pyruvate carboxylase), propionic acid metabolism (propionyl CoA-carboxylase, carbohydrate metabolism and synthesis of proteins and purines.
Synthesis of Biotin takes place in the intestine thru fermentation. The presence of sulpha drugs can affect the absorption of this vitamin since this kind of drug can destroy intestinal flora. During treatment of this drug, it is important to supplement adequate amounts to prevent deficiency to occur. The activity of Zagrovit Biotin 2% is not affected even if it is exposed to heat or light, however, it will be unstable upon mixing to either strong acid or basic solution.
Similar symptoms are manifested with the deficiency of supply of Biotin in the food ration as that of B-complexes. Lack of Biotin in the diet may lead to depressed growth, hair loss and low fertility. In poultry, signs such as poor feathering, inflammation of beak, legs and toes, fatty liver and kidney syndrome (FLKS) are observed among flocks. Pigs exhibit hair loss and inflammation of hooves and hoof-sole. Cattle, sheep and horses are observed to have brittle horns and cracked hooves.

I was having problems with my horses white hoof splitting and both horses having soft hooves.
Used zagrovit at the recomended rate of 0.5-1 mg per horse per day for two weeks.
Splits started healing within 2 days, 2 weeks later they both have hard hooves, solid soles & less chipping more shaping from hard ground.
Its easy to mix with feed & also assisted with coat and mane condition & growth.
Well worthgiving it a try
